The use of this garden art may have been around for nearly 2000 years but this fashion has never died, if anything it has seen a revival over the past decade. This is partly due to its diverse uses it can look in harmony as a traditional feature in the country garden such as shaped yew (Taxus) hedge too every shaped feature imaginable from a trio ball to an elephant that creates a focal point in design. The use is also very much at home within the urban garden where it can act as statement planting in the form of Buxus shaped cones or spheres used in pairs will enhance the entrance of any home. Bay trees (Laurus nobilis) standards (lollypop) are also ideal for this situation.
